The Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund has been providing holiday cheer to families with children with serious illnesses and disabilities since 1994. Healthcare professionals at designated hospitals and social service agencies recommend patients and their families for whom the holidays will be difficult. We pair these families with sponsors who provide gift cards for markets (Acme, Giant, ShopRite), department stores (Old Navy, Target, Walmart), and pharmacies (CVS, Walgreen’s); toys; clothes; books; games; small electronics; play equipment; and other holiday goodies.
Individual or group sponsors can support this heartwarming program in two ways:
• Volunteer to be matched with a specific family, for whom you will be asked to purchase items from a “wish list” prepared by the family. (Please call our office at 215-643-0763 for more information.)
• Send a contribution, identified specifically for the Holiday Adopt-a-Family program, to Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund HAAF, P.O. Box 556, Ambler, PA 19002 or click Donate Now above.
The generous support of countless volunteers has made it possible to brighten the holidays of more than 1,600 families. Here's what one social worker says about the program:
Wow! How can I begin to thank you and your amazing donors for
the generous support your provided to so many of our families at Ken
Crest? Each family that I referred was completely awestruck by the
kindness, generosity, and thought that went into the gifts that were
provided. One family was moved to tears; another was smiling more than
I've ever seen before. Through the efforts of your wonderful staff and
donors, the families we serve at Ken Crest had happier and brighter
holidays than they could have ever imagined.
Last year, thanks to the generosity of many sponsors, our program served 232 families—the most in its history. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make the program a success, especially the folks at the Wissahickon Fire Company, who graciously donated the use of their fire hall for collecting and distributing gifts, and the kind people at Sloane Moving Company, who volunteered to deliver a truckload of gifts to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
